Installation of Horizon Adapter Package for vROPs
Before proceeding the installation, download the Horizon Adapter package from myvmware.com download page.
- Log in to vROPs admin console. Go to Administration>Repository and select ‘Add Management Pack’ under Other Management Packs section at the button of page.
2. Select browse and locate the installer package and click in UPLOAD
3. Once the upload is completed, you will see package information and validation result as below. Select NEXT.
4. Accept the term of agreement and select NEXT.
5. Confirm the list of solution going to be installed and select FINISH.
6. Under Other management Packs section, you will see new package for VMware Horizon.
6. Go to Licensing under Management in left pane. Select License Keys>green plus sign. Select VMware Horizon from dropdown for solution and enter valid license key and validate it.
7. If the entered license is valid, you will see validation success message as below. Select SAVE to save the license.
Configure Horizon Adapter for vROPs
1. Log in to vROPs admin console. Go to Administration (1)> Configuration(2) under Solutions. Select VMware Horizon (3) from Solutions section and Horizon adapter (4) from configured Adapter Instances section and click in gear (5) sign to proceed the configuration.
2. Select Horizon Adapter and give user friendly name for Display Name and Adapter ID. Click in green plus sign and set the credential. This credential will be used while pairing broker agent in Horizon CS. Click in TEST CONNECTION.
3. You will see below message if connection is succeeded. Click OK and Save Settings.
4. Confirm below message.
Installation of vROPs Broker Agent in Horizon Connection server.
You need install broker agent on only of one of the Horizon Connection Server within a POD.
- Make sure you have downloaded vROPs Horizon Broker Agent installer. Right click over installer and select ‘Run as administrator’.
2. Select Next.
3. Accept License Agreement and select Next.
4. Select Install to proceed the installation.
5. Select Finish.
6. From the start menu, open ‘vRealize Operations for Horizon Broker Agent Settings’. Enter adapter IP, Port and Pairing Key set earlier during vROPs configuration. Select Pair and Next.
7. Enter credential to access Horizon Connection Server. Select Test and Next.
8. Enter user name password for Horizon Even DB. Select Test and Next.
9. If App Volumes Manager exists in your environment. Enter the detail of App Volumes Manager IP/FQDN, Port Username, Password respectively. You can add multiple App Volumes Managers.
10. Enter the detail of UAG. Multiple UAGs can be added here.
11. Set Intervals and Timeouts as per your requirement and select Next.
12. Set Logging Paramaters as per your requirement and select Next.
13. Click Start and verify pairings are succeeded.
14. Select Finish.
15. Log in to vROPs admin console. Go to Dashboard >Horizon Overview and verify that vROPs is showing metrics.
16. Go to Environment >Horizon View Environment and verify horizon related metrics.
